Laid-back

9.59a.m.-9.59p.m. 13 March 2019

2F, Building F, The Biscuit Factory

Bermondsey, London

SE16 4DG

This exhibition is organized by my friend that study in MA Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Arts. There are a lot of installations that require a lot of space, but the location of the work is very reasonable. Preparations are also done in place, with prefaces, beautiful brochures and labels.

I think that the layout and creativity of many installations in this exhibition will bring great help to my next research direction. I hope that in the future works, the layout between the work and the space can be completed more tastefully. I don't care about creativity and visual effects. I think quality is more important.

There is a installation in this exhibition that is very special. It casts the video on the ceiling, with only one projector in the middle, and people can hardly find it if they don't stay. But once found, it will attract people's attention. This is actually the same as what I want to express in the picture.

This is actually the same as what I want to express in the picture. I don't want to use traditional patterns to attract people's attention. On the contrary, I hope that the value of my work itself is greater than the traditional form of the pattern. I hope that people will be attracted to my work first, and then explore a more complex and profound artistic language. The first feeling is very easy and simple. The second feeling is that this is actually not an easy-to-understand painting.

Exhibition Site

The most special part of the exhibition was that we had a performance on the first day of the opening day. The performance lasted about 5 minutes, spread by several artists to the exhibition site and slowly joined together rhythmically to find a resonance between the artists on the exhibition site to achieve a kind of art, artist, audience and even exhibition space harmonious.
